Bridport Youth: Weycroft Reunited Christmas Party

Who are we?

Churches Together in Bridport Youth Project is run by a team drawn from several Bridport Churches and aims to reach out to the young people of the town by providing safe opportunities for them to relax, have fun, build meaningful relationships with both their peers and elders, and to explore the meaning of life. Members of the project meet regularly to pray for the youth of Bridport. They also support young people at Colfox School as listeners. The project currently employs a full-time Youth Worker, Joel Baker, who also has several years' teaching experience. Joel teaches and supports lessons at the Sir John Colfox School, and runs a lunchtime Christian group for Colfox pupils. He also helps out at The Mill, and together with his wife Liz, runs a weekly after-school Youth Cafe (see advert below for details), and a weekly Youth Discipleship Group. when God had you on his heart

i was down and dumped on

no hope of happiness

seemed i had to choose less

than the best not even knowing

what that meant. to be loved.

to be cherished and blessed.

then a knocking at my door

and suddenly i knew the score

and it was God

he’d been crying for me

cause his dying for me

had been ignored all through the years

i hadn’t noticed his tears

i was conforming to a normal

that was simply unachievable

ideals that weren’t real

and that steal from his original

design

getting hurt getting trapped

used to think i had it wrapped

had it sorted had it mapped

out worked out in fact i had it

messed up screwed up

twisted in my mind and

every mask i got behind

made me difficult to find

but not for God

is he crying for you
